ELECTION YEAR ECONOMY AND TRUCKING

I have been in the business long enough to see the dramatic affect an election year can have on the trucking industry.
This year we had some problems that killed many small businesses, and the trucking industry was no different. Many poorly managed trucking companies failed when the market all but shut down during the initial virus outbreak in the US. The biggest reason being that they were not charging enough for their services and could not sustain being shut down even for a short period of time.
Typically, on an election year politics has an adverse effect on the economy because of the uncertainty of who will be in office. That does not seem to be the case this year. I will say that the economy is ticking along quite nicely from my perspective, trucks are in high demand everywhere. Some of this has to do with the lack of available trucks but I see the amount of work out there to be had and people just like me paying premium dollars to get the trucks they need.
I do want to say I feel our president is misunderstood by most but ultimately, he is a businessman and I see other folks in business recognize him as that. To think he could easily do what ever he pleased and not deal with all the negative aspects of being president is easy to see.
I find the more the media tries to trash him it shows how much the establishment hates him. It has thrown a wrench in their plans of destroying our great nation for whatever their purpose.
I know who I will be choosing when it is my time to vote, do you?
