This photo is of a B model Mack pulling a three-axle removable goose neck trailer with a two-axle jeep is impressive for its time.
The pair of dozers would not be allowed on any trailer on any highway in the US today for one very simple reason, it has two machines on the trailer. Why? In todays world this is what we call a divisible load. That means when you go over 80,000lbs gross weight on any truck no matter how many axles the truck trailer combination has you have to be permitted. No permit will allow two pieces of machinery on one truck it is just not necessary.
For those who try it without a permit be prepared to dig deep, fines on these vary but most states charge by the pound over 80,000lbs.
