Seeking new clients – Free Quote
This is always something a freight broker does perpetually as time permits. The reason is we must maintain several clients to stay on top. I am currently a silver agent for Sureway Transportation Company wanting to be a gold agent.
It is a challenge to take a client from another broker that is currently servicing their needs unless, they have done something to abuse the client. I know this because many have tried to pull accounts from me in the past with my clients saying, “no thank you I have the best already”. I have also been on the other side of that conversation as well when making calls to potential clients.
I will say that I have several word of mouth customers those are the best. I find when someone refers you to another client and says you are “the man” it certainly helps.
Now since what I prefer to do is specialty or oversized freight it narrows down the list of potential clients for me. Another thing I look for is project work I find it challenging at times and managing it takes a special person to do the job, but the rewards are great.
This year I built the ultimate office to work projects out of and it has yet to be tested to capacity.
